McGhee-Krizsan Engineering Limited, Consulting Engineers is a
100% Canadian owned company and based in Burlington, Ontario. MKE
was founded in 2006 by our president Karen McGhee, P.Eng.
MKE specializes in Project Management and Independent Engineering
for Renewable and Clean Energy Projects.
Our reputation was built on providing engineering services for the Waterpower
Industry throughout Canada. Our services have since expanded to now include other forms of renewable and clean energy, namely Windpower,
Solar Power, Bio-Diesel and Co-Generation.
In addition to electricity generation, MKE provides Structural Engineering and Independent
Engineering (IE) services for a variety of infrastructure projects.

About Founder and President: Karen McGhee, P.Eng.
Karen started her career in waterpower in 1993 with the former Cumming
Cockburn Limited which ultimately became part of IBI Group in 2004. In the early years, Karen's focus was mainly design
and energy generation forecasting. She then moved into indepependent engineering reviews for new developments, refinancing,
acquisitions. She was responsible for the engineering review of over 50 waterpower sites for Initial Public Offering (IPOs)
for the Income Fund craze of the early 2000s. Since starting MKE in 2006, Karen has focused on Project Management for new developments
and Independent Engineering for regulatory agencies during construction.
Karen is a member of the Ontario Waterpower
Association Board of Directors and serves on several committees focused on improving the development process in Ontario including
the Waterpower Working Group (a task team comprised of Industry, First Nations and Government representatives). She was the
"Hydrology/Hydraulics" and "Technical Aspects" instructor for the Group's "Waterpower 101" series of workshops and seminars for Ontario
First Nation representatives.
In 2013, Karen became the 9th recipient, and the first woman, of the R.A.
Dodokin Award from the Ontario Waterpower Association in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the advancement of waterpower
